Sales Training: Customer Value And Retention

Let’s face it we are in a numbers driven world.  A lot of emphasis is focused on gains especially in sales. But, often times we forget about the  existing relationships that need to be nurtured instead we create the sale and move on to the next. You see there is value in establishing long term business relationships with existing clients. Here are the advantages of retaining existing clients.

Cost Effective to Retain- The acquisition of  new customers can cost up to five times more than satisfying and retaining current customers. It’s been proven that customer retention and satisfaction drive profits. It’s far less expensive to nurture and develop your current customer base and sell more services to them than it is to seek new, single-transaction customers

Long Term Pays Off-The customer profitability rate tends to increase over the life of a retained customer.

Having more delighted customers- Effective customer retention strategies allow you to move from the zone of  delivering customer satisfaction to customer delight. It’s been proven that  certain studies have shown that customer delight is accomplished  when there is a perfect synergy between the  merchant and customer  – when the merchant can understand exactly what the buyer needs and the buyer understands what the seller can deliver exactly what he or she  needs. That should always be implemented in your sales strategy.

Upside In Referrals-  Your referrals  are the strongest leads and most cost effective way  to be converted into a sale. People are more likely to go with a product or service that someone they know has already experienced.

Especially, here in Manila. It’s stressed by most bpo’s to have proper sales training in the Philippines and the right training and development for companies to be able to foster existing relationships from business to customer relationships.

Sales Training: Overcoming The Fear Of Sales Slump

Sales is like a roller coaster. One minute your up and the next minute your down. We all would love to stay on the upside of things but, unfortunately we have to go through the downside or the so called “slump”. It doesn’t matter of how good of a sales person you are or how much sales training you have had , you can expect them to come.  We want to share with you some tips on how to overcome the sales slump.

Think Positive- You have been there before so, know and think you can be there again. It starts with a positive mind set.

Revaluate- Are you doing things different? or Is your sales pitch a little dry?. You want to revaluate yourself to see if you need to make the necessary corrections. By, doing this you will be able to identify and solve the problem.

Know Your Prospects- It’s important to  have a pipeline full of well qualified and potential prospects at all times (remember that  customers are also prospects). This is half the battle to know who you are selling to. Make sure you are targeting the right audience and being able to discern who the buyers are.

Check Points- You want to make sure you have all your areas covered by doing check points. This will help you discover where you need to work on for improvements. For example: attitude, presentation, product knowledge, effective communication these are all examples of check points to help you revise your sales approach.

Smile- Lastly, smile always. Yes, even if you are going through the slump. Smiling gives off a positive vibe. Remember, that your client does not have to know you are going through a slump but by giving off a positive vibe and smiling will likely turn your situation around.

Sales slumps are temporary. They come and they go with a positive attitude and the right sales training you will be able to over come them.
